No one wants to spend their time sniffling and congested. I like to have a full toolbox at the ready to battle respiratory symptoms to minimize disruptions on life. - Mixing bowl (This bundle includes the measuring cups too)
- 1 cup measure
- 1 tbs measure
- baking soda
- water
- food coloring (optional)
- lavender essential oil
- peppermint essential oil
- eucalyptus essential oil
- silicone molds (these are similar to what I used for my toilet bombs too)
How to make

Add 1 cup baking soda to your glass bowl. Slowly mix in 3-5 tablespoons water. The goal is consistency between the texture of toothpaste, and super wet sand. For me in Colorado, I almost always need the maximum amount of water with the dry air. If you go overboard with the water, you can easily add in a little more baking soda. Next, add in food coloring of choice, or soap colorant. Add in about 15-20 drops each of Eucalyptus, lavender, and peppermint essential oils.
Finish your DIY shower melts

I ended up blotting a little water that rose to the top with a paper towel. Then I sped up the process for these to harden in the freezer. We were mid throes of a nasty cold for Biggs and I wanted to use them quickly. After a few hours they were hard and ready to use. I popped them out of the molds to store in an airtight glass jar.
How to use
I put these in a shallow dish near the drain in the shower when I need to clear my sinuses. The essential oils plus the steam are a great addition to my toolbox. Putting it in a shallow dish helps these disolve a little more slowly, If its not completely dissolved at the end of my shower, I will pick it up and breathe deep while holding it under the water. I also use these sometimes throughout the day. I place them in a bowl with super hot water, and tent a towel over the head to keep the steam in. Lean over the bowl and let the steam work it’s magic for about 5 minutes to loosen things up. Be careful not to drag the towel in the hot water or get too close!
How to get the oils at wholesale
I have loved the health benefits of essential oils! Once I finally took the plunge and looked at the cost as an investment in health, I haven’t looked back. If you’d like to join me in exploring the health benefits of essential oils at discounted wholesale prices, this enrollment kit is a great place to start. I’ve added the Eucalyptus to complete these easy DIY shower melts to the cart for convenience. I love the high quality oils from doTerra. Other cheaper oils from Amazon sometimes leave me with headaches from the smell.
